Dodge manufactured the Sprinter 3500 light truck through the years 2003–2009 while performing two substantial model updates to demonstrate engineering advancements. When the Dodge Sprinter 3500 was manufactured it included a 2.7L five-cylinder turbo diesel engine which provided 154 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. In 2007 customers could select from three wheelbase lengths and two roof heights together with multiple seat setups when ordering the Dodge Sprinter 3500. Moving forward to the first generation Dodge Sprinter 3500 received a 5-speed automatic transmission for its transmission system. Customers could choose from a six-speed ECO Gear manual transmission along with a seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission in the second generation to enhance rear-wheel torque delivery. Depending on the selected configuration the vehicle achieved fuel economy levels reaching 25 miles per gallon. Standard models of the Dodge Sprinter 3500 introduced the 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine with optional 3.5L petrol V6 engine features for additional performance. The Dodge Sprinter 3500 base model equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, sliding passenger door and automatic climate control while offering extra features that increased with trim selections. Genuine OEM parts should be used to protect the Dodge Sprinter 3500's quality and longevity because OEM parts meet all factory requirements.
